Intapp SaaS for legal and financial professionals

I defined and drove the design vision for Intapp’s B2C mobile app. Leaning on user insights and usage data, I worked closely with product, engineering and business stakeholders to define the global app strategy for Intapp and balanced this with short-term improvements and delivery.

Mobile strategy & design principles

I built the mobile design strategy, created mobile ux design principles and build out a mobile design system which I championed and embedded across all the native B2C mobile apps across Intapp - spanning multiple products (DealCloud, Time, Activator, Celeste and Risk Intapp products).

I established consistent patterns across the experience, and worked closely with several product teams to rethink how mobile fits into each of their ecosystems. The result was a strategic shift, not just a cleanup - moving the app to a personalised, persona specific companion app and thought partner.

Prototyping the UX & product vision

I worked closely with senior product leadership and user research to help define and shape to the roadmap for the key mobile product at Intapp - the DealCloud Mobile App to provide senior executives with the insights they most need at any given time. Together we mapped out a release plan which involved monthly releases and incorporated user testing and iterating into it. The existing Mobile app was not serving Intapp’s users, it was condensed and increasingly unusable version of the web app, that required more than IA and UI updates - we had to change the configuration set up for one that mobile specific and had to revisit who we are serving with the mobile app, based on our research findings.

The resulting product vision focused on the user cases for our main persona - the senior executive (financial and legal) - finding and capturing pre and post meeting information. This involved a personalised home page to surface the information that was most important for them, on the day, a quick way to view deals a glance, look up and capture information. I utilised a mix of Figma, Claude Cowork and Code to visualise this vision into a prototype:

Beyond this, we wanted to evolve the experience into a more fluid, AI driven thought partner. This was a more conceptual framework and would need more extensive research and testing. To give us room for this, we then mapped out the following 2-track roadmap that 1, extended the current app's runway with four targeted UX and UI improvements (Home, Information capture and information look up, Contextual AI) but one which was still constrained by the existing web frontend configuration and 2, a ground-up rebuild with persona-aware onboarding, with AI embedded in the users workflow, where it matters most - not a bold on - that composed the Home screen for the day, time and location of the user, rendering answers in the right shape per task, Voice and CarPlay for on the go information capture and experimented with fluid UI. I again worked with Figma and Claude to visualise this: 2 Track Roadmap >‍ ‍(password: skydiving)

Short-term updates - UI and navigation updates

Alongside working with senior product stakeholders on the wider mobile strategy, I was also designing and delivering short-term, fast yet impactful updates.

Initial updates included:

  • removed onboarding and log in friction

  • improved navigation and IA

  • Home and global navigation update - persona specific

  • reduced UI clutter and improving visual hierarchy
